FOSH GAITED DISTANCE AWARDS

  • In order to be eligible for these awards, the horse must be enrolled in the FOSH Gaited Distance Program and must meet all program qualifications.
  • Awards winners will be contacted by FOSH.
  • Awards will be mailed to the current first-listed owner on record with FOSH as of December 31 of the year earned.
  • All awards will be announced in the April issue of the Sound Advocate and on the FOSH website and FOSH Press releases.

 

YEAR-END HIGH MILEAGE AWARDS

  • There will be recognition given annually, based on the calendar year (January 1 to December 31), to the high mileage horses in each of the three divisions by weight categories.
  • A minimum of 350 miles in all categories must be completed during the competition year before the award will be given.
  • Mileage ties will be broken by presenting the award to the horse with the highest number of actual rides.
  • Awards will be made in the Light Weight and Heavy Weight category for each award.

 

Year-End High Mileage Endurance Horse Award

To be presented to the horse enrolled in the FOSH Gaited Distance Program completing the highest number of miles in approved endurance rides within a ride year.

 

Year-End High Limited Distance Horse Award

To be presented to the horse enrolled in the FOSH Gaited Distance program completing the highest number of miles in approved limited distance rides within a ride year.

 

Year-End High Competitive Trail Horse Award

To be presented to the horse enrolled in the FOSH gaited Distance program completing the highest number of miles in approved competitive trail rides within a ride year.

 

Overall Year-End High Mileage Award

To be presented to the horse enrolled in the FOSH Gaited Distance program with the highest total number of miles earned in approved endurance rides, approved limited distance rides, and approved competitive trail rides.

 

FOSH 1,000 MILE AWARD

An award will be given to horses successfully completing 1,000 Distance Miles.  This award was designed to recognize those gaited horses able to reach a high level of performance in the distance field and to encourage the serious conscientious rider. There is no time limit on completing the mileage. It is awarded every 1,000 miles to horses completing mileage in approved endurance, limited distance or competitive trail rides.

A.   All horses participating must be registered in the FOSH Gaited Distance program.

B.  All horses competing for the 1,000 Mile Award must be owned by a current FOSH member.

C.  The rider is responsible for keeping the same type of records required for all FOSH awards.

D.  A photograph suitable for publishing of horses that receive FOSH 1,000 Mile Awards must be received by January 31st for use in any Yearend results publication.  It is the sole responsibility of the participant to submit ride results and photographs.
